The Leucadia Club Rules and Regulations

July 2026

Dear LC Member,

The purpose of The Leucadia Club (“LC”) is to provide a private, relaxed, thoughtful space where members can escape the demands of work and the outside world, connect with fellow members, collaborate on ideas, build community, and enjoy the club responsibly.

The LC is a member-driven community. It is not a public bar, event venue, restaurant, staffed service club, political organization, or charity. The LC works because members act with maturity, discretion, respect, and shared responsibility.

These Rules and Regulations are intended to protect the LC, its members, its guests, its license, its neighbors, and the unique culture we are building together. Some rules are based on requirements or restrictions from the City of Encinitas, the Encinitas Planning Commission, the State of California, and the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Other rules are internal LC rules adopted by the Board of Directors (“BOD”) to preserve the club and improve the member experience.

By remaining a member and using the LC, each member agrees to follow these Rules and Regulations and understands that their actions reflect on the reputation, license, and long-term future of the LC.

1. Membership and Sponsorship

SWAMI'S"He's cool."
“You don't just paddle out at Swami's, brah — a local's gotta vouch for you.”

All prospective members must be sponsored by a current LC member in order to be considered for membership.

Membership is not automatic and may require review, approval, onboarding, payment of applicable fees, and agreement to the LC Rules and Regulations.

Spouses, significant others, family members, friends, and business partners of members are not automatically members. They are guests unless and until they separately apply, are approved, complete onboarding, and become members.

2. Fees, Dues, and Account Standing

DUES
“Dues are like wax, dude. Skip 'em and you slide right off.”

All members must pay the applicable one-time joining fee and remain current on monthly dues in order to maintain membership and building access.

Joining fees, monthly dues, guest contributions, event fees, cleaning fees, and other LC fees are non-refundable unless otherwise approved by the BOD in writing.

Members are responsible for keeping their billing information current and notifying the BOD or bookkeeper of any payment issues or changes in billing information. Missed payments must be resolved promptly to maintain membership and access.

The BOD may update dues, fees, guest contributions, event fees, and other charges from time to time.

3. Responsible Beverage Service and Alcohol Compliance

10:30RBS
“Last call's 10:30, dude. The ABC doesn't care how good the swell was.”

The LC operates under a California Type 57 license. Alcohol may be consumed by members and invited guests only, subject to ABC rules, license conditions, and LC policies.

Because LC members may pour drinks for themselves and guests, host guests, supervise guest access, and otherwise participate in alcohol service, all members with building or bar access are required to maintain current California Responsible Beverage Service certification.

New members must complete RBS certification before receiving building or bar access, unless otherwise exempted by the BOD in writing.

Existing members must complete RBS certification by the deadline set by the BOD. During any transition period, members who are not RBS certified may use the LC, but may not host events involving alcohol or pour, serve, or facilitate alcoholic beverages for guests.

Any member hosting an event involving alcohol must be RBS certified before the event.

All members are responsible for helping protect the LC’s license. Members must not serve alcohol to minors, over-serve themselves or others, serve alcohol to anyone who appears intoxicated, allow unsafe behavior, or treat the LC as a public bar.

Alcoholic beverage service hours are 9:00 AM to 10:30 PM. This is critical to the LC’s license and must be followed.

4. Guests

MOONLIGHT
“Bring your buddies — but you're their lifeguard.”

Members may invite guests to join them at the LC, but guests are only permitted when accompanied by the inviting member.

Guests may not use the LC independently, access the LC without a member present, or be invited simply to “check it out.” The LC’s legal and licensing status depends on restricting access to members and invited guests only.

Members are responsible for their guests at all times, including conduct, beverage consumption, safety, cleanup, parking, noise, and compliance with LC rules.

Members are expected to use discretion when inviting guests. The LC is not an open bar, public venue, party house, or drop-in space for unknown guests.

5. Guest Beverage Contributions

Guests who consume LC-provided beverages, whether alcoholic or non-alcoholic, are expected to make the current guest beverage contribution using the approved payment method.

The BOD may set and update the guest beverage contribution amount, payment method, and beverage policy from time to time. The current contribution amount and payment method will be posted at the LC or otherwise communicated to members.

Members are responsible for making sure their guests understand and follow the beverage contribution policy.

6. Minors

21+ ONLY
“Groms are welcome. Groms don't pour.”

Minors are allowed at the LC when accompanied and supervised by a parent, guardian, or responsible member.

Members must use good judgment when bringing minors to the LC. The LC is still an adult private club with alcohol on site, and members are responsible for ensuring minors are safe, respectful of the space, and not disruptive to other members.

Minors are never permitted behind the bar, in alcohol storage areas, or to handle, pour, serve, open, transport, or assist with alcoholic beverages in any way.

Children’s parties, youth-focused events, larger gatherings involving minors, or any organized event where minors are a central part of the event require prior BOD approval.

7. Events and Private Use

EVENTTHE BOARD
“Throwing a party? Check with the Board before you drop in.”

Events, private gatherings, organized group activities, reserved uses of the LC, or gatherings that are materially different from normal member use require prior BOD approval.

A current LC member must sponsor the event and be physically present for the full duration of the event, including setup, the event itself, cleanup, and closing.

The sponsoring member is responsible for all guests, beverage compliance, noise, parking, cleanup, damages, fees, and adherence to all LC rules.

The BOD may maintain a separate Event Hosting Policy covering event approval, guest limits, fees, deposits, cleaning requirements, beverage use, outside vendors, setup, breakdown, minors, and other event-specific rules.

8. Noise, Music, and Dancing

CARDIFF REEF♪♫
“Keep it mellow. Save the shredding for Cardiff Reef.”

No live music or dancing is permitted unless specifically approved by the BOD and allowed under applicable City and ABC restrictions.

Members must be thoughtful about sound at all times. Keep doors and back windows closed when needed and be respectful of neighboring tenants and nearby residents.

The LC is not a place for loud, wild parties or obnoxious behavior. Be chill, mature, considerate, and preferably interesting.

9. Parking and Neighbor Relations

101
“Park on the 101 or out back — the front spots aren't yours, kook.”

Members and guests should park on Coast Highway or in the underground spaces in the back under the LC.

Do not park in the spaces out front or in spaces reserved for other tenants.

Members and guests must be polite and respectful to neighbors, other tenants, and the surrounding community. Maintaining a good relationship with neighbors is essential to the LC’s long-term future.

10. Safe Transportation

RIDE
“Had a few? Hail a ride. Nobody wants to wipe out on the 101.”

All members must have access to a car service or rideshare app and agree to use it if they are not in a condition to drive.

Members have a responsibility to help other members and guests get home safely. No one should drive impaired.

11. Pets

DOG BEACH →
“Leave Fido home. Dog Beach is down in Del Mar, dude.”

No pets are allowed, unless specifically approved by the BOD or required by law.

12. Smoking

“No smoke sessions inside. Keep the air as clean as a dawn patrol.”

No smoking, vaping, cannabis use, or smoking of anything is allowed inside the LC or in any area where it could create issues for the LC, neighboring tenants, or the building.

13. Member Conduct

"Your wave, brah."
“Be chill, be kind, and don't snake anybody's wave.”

Members are expected to act with maturity, discretion, and respect for the LC, fellow members, guests, neighbors, and the space.

The LC is a place for connection, conversation, collaboration, and community. Members are encouraged to speak freely, share ideas, and collaborate on projects or ventures.

However, members may not use the LC to harass, intimidate, pressure, exploit, or repeatedly bother other members.

The BOD reserves the right to review, restrict, suspend, or terminate membership if a member’s behavior is inconsistent with the LC rules, culture, safety, license obligations, or best interests.

14. Privacy and Member Contact Information

"…you didn't hear it from me."
“What's said in the lineup stays in the lineup.”

Member contact information is private and must be treated with respect.

LC-wide business solicitations, mass outreach, or sharing member contact information with outside parties is prohibited unless approved by the BOD or clearly authorized by the member.

Members may build relationships, collaborate, and do business together organically, but the LC member list may not be used as a sales list, fundraising list, recruiting list, or marketing database.

15. Charitable, Political, and Community Projects

The LC is not-for-profit in spirit, but it is not a charity.

Members should not use LC-wide communications to solicit charitable contributions unless approved by the BOD. Members are free to work directly with other interested members on charitable ventures, community projects, or shared causes.

The LC does not take political positions and is not a vehicle for political fundraising. Members may speak freely as individuals, but no member may represent that the LC endorses a political candidate, campaign, issue, or position unless expressly approved by the BOD.

16. Co-Working and Shared Facility Use

quiet calls only
“Work from the club all day — just don't hog the peak.”

Members may use the LC for work, calls, meetings, and collaboration, provided they are respectful of other members and the shared nature of the space.

Members using the LC for work should avoid monopolizing common areas, keep calls and media at a respectful volume, use headphones when appropriate, and clean up all work materials when finished.

The BOD may create separate facility-use guidelines for rooms, hot desks, calls, meetings, events, equipment, and shared resources.

17. Beverage Inventory and Shared Supplies

The BOD may maintain a list of LC-provided alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and shared supplies.

Members may not remove LC beverages or supplies from the premises without approval.

Members should not use LC inventory for private events, outside gatherings, or personal stockpiling unless approved by the BOD.

If members bring beverages or supplies for shared use, they should follow LC labeling, storage, and use guidelines.

18. Cleaning, Closing, and Shared Responsibility

“Leave it cleaner than Moonlight after a Surfrider cleanup. Lights off, door locked.”

The LC is a shared member space, not a staffed service club. Every member is responsible for leaving the LC cleaner than they found it.

Members are responsible for cleaning up after themselves and their guests. This includes wiping down surfaces, cleaning spills, loading and starting the dishwasher when appropriate, taking out trash and recycling when needed, returning furniture and supplies to their proper place, and making sure personal items are removed.

Before leaving, members must make sure lights are turned off, doors and windows are closed and secured, air conditioning or heating is turned off or reset as directed, the bar area is clean and secure, and the space is locked and safe.

Members who repeatedly fail to clean up, secure the space, or follow closing procedures may be charged cleaning or damage fees, have access restricted, or have their membership reviewed by the BOD.

The BOD may maintain a separate Closing Checklist that all members are expected to follow.

19. Damage, Problems, and Reporting

"My bad!"
“Ding the board? Own the ding.”

Members must promptly report any damage, spills, broken items, maintenance issues, safety concerns, missing supplies, or problems with the space to the BOD or designated contact.

Members may be responsible for damage caused by themselves or their guests.

20. Board Authority and Rule Updates

The BOD reserves the right to interpret, update, modify, or add to these Rules and Regulations as needed to protect the LC, comply with legal or license requirements, improve operations, and preserve the member experience.

Updated rules will be posted at the LC, shared with members, or otherwise made available for review.

21. Membership Review, Suspension, or Termination

The BOD reserves the right to review, suspend, restrict, or terminate any membership if the BOD determines that a member has violated LC rules, failed to pay required fees or dues, created risk for the LC, harmed the member experience, or acted contrary to the best interests of the club.

Termination, suspension, or restriction of membership does not entitle the member to a refund of joining fees, dues, guest contributions, event fees, or other amounts paid.

The legal bit: The cartoons and quotes are just for fun. They aren't the rules, they don't change the rules, and they wouldn't hold up in a court of law, dude. The written Rules and Regulations above are what count.
